Generate a backlog with the Launchpad

Describe your product in a few sentences, attach a specification if you have one: AI proposes a Super Epic, epics and tickets, which you review before anything is created.

Before you start

The Launchpad uses AI credits. The free plan has no monthly allowance: move to the Team plan or buy a top-up. The exact cost depends on the number of epics generated; it is shown before generation starts. See AI credits.

The easiest way is to open it when creating the project: tick Open the Launchpad after creation in the wizard (Create a project).

The steps

  1. Documents (optional): drop a specification, a pitch or notes, as PDF, TXT or MD, 10 MB maximum per file. Analyze and pre-fill completes the next steps from their content.
  2. Product: the product name (required), what it is in one sentence, the problem it solves and who will use it. A few sentences are enough.
  3. Features: the step that matters most. Write one feature per line in the must-have features, then, if you wish, the "later" features and the constraints to know about. Choose the target scope: MVP, Full version 1 or Complete product. When in doubt, keep version 1.
  4. Generation: check the announced cost, then click Generate the backlog. Allow a few tens of seconds.
  5. Review: untick what you do not want, fix the titles, or click Regenerate. Nothing is written to the project yet.
  6. Click Create everything in the project.

The backlog is immediately usable in Tickets, Sprints and Kanban. Each feature becomes an epic, broken down into concrete tickets: mock-ups, development, tests.

You can leave and come back

The Launchpad keeps your answers: allow less than three minutes of input, and come back later if needed.

For a project already under way

To add a new requirement to an existing backlog, start from a requirement instead: the line offered at the top of the ticket, epic and Super Epic creation windows opens the same engine, which attaches the new tickets to existing epics rather than recreating them. See Start from a requirement.
