Import a backlog
Bring an existing backlog into Manifst from a CSV file, or sync it from Jira, Azure Boards or Linear.

From a CSV file
- Open Settings, Data tab, Import data section.
- Step 1: click Download template (.csv). It contains a sample row for each level: Super Epic, epic and ticket.
- Fill in the template in your spreadsheet. The separator can be a semicolon, a comma or a tab. The description column accepts Markdown formatting (bold, lists, links).
- Step 2: drop the completed file.
- Step 3: review the preview, tick or untick the items to import.
- Click Import into project.
Starting from an Excel export
Export your existing file as CSV, then copy its columns into the template's: it is more reliable than renaming your own columns.
From Jira, Azure Boards or Linear
These tools connect through a connector, which syncs the backlog both ways instead of copying it once. Connectors are included from the Team plan. Step-by-step setup is in the connectors documentation.
Export your data
In the same tab, Export project data produces a CSV of the backlog (Super Epics, epics and tickets), using a semicolon as separator, ready for Excel.
